Received an Award
I received this lovely award from Irish Muses , Since I do not have a big following yet I am passing it along to all who read my blog. I hope that we will all become friends. I have only been doing this blog on a regular basis for a short time and am finding more and more of interest on the Blogs of others.

Bought an old Singer
I bought an old Singer Spartan on ebay for $5. It was listed as "for Parts" . I am giving a try at getting it up and running. The flywheel seems to be frozen. I have sprayed the heck out if with WD40 and have gotten it to move slightly. Have been working on it for 2 days now. I love to tinker with old machines. At least 5 of them have "followed me home" as my daughter Jenifer says. If I ever get it running I will post a photo. It is a green model 327.

The World is full of Lovely People
I have a really old Singer Treadle Machine. I have had it for years and it has been just sitting around collecting dust. I am finally getting ready to clean it up and use it. The problem was that one of the wheels was missing and it made it really difficult to move. I posted my problem on one of the Singer Vintage forums and a lovely man named Jay emailed me that he repairs old Singers. He sent me a wheel and didn't even ask for payment up front. How trusting is that? Now that I have put the wheel on, I can start working on cleaning and oiling the machine. Jay tells me that his wife Sharron is a quilter has a picture of a quilt she did in the August issue of Quilters World Magazine. I have to look for that.

Beautiful weekend
We had some beautiful weather this weekend for a change. We just relaxed for the holiday and I made pulled pork for dinner on the 4th. It was really good and easy to do because the crockpot does most of the work. I hope the nice weather lasts a couple of days. We have had so much rain here on Long Island. The only good thing about that was that you don't have to water the lawn.
